Today's My Two Cents is going to be very short. I hope you will understand.
I got one of those calls last night. One of those calls that just rips your heart out and crushes it right in front of you. I won't give details about it just yet. This is not the time. But just suffice it to say that I am really "playing hurt" right now.
I just want to thank my family and friends for the support they have given and will give me in the future. This is one of those time when you find out you have even more friends and loved ones than you realized.
I also want to give a huge thank you to my wife. She is the one I will lean on the most to get through this difficult time--even though she is hurting as well. How did I ever get so lucky to have someone like her in my life?
That is all for now. Again I hope you will understand.

I was wondering, why Rich Allen no longer works for this Radio Station.
ReplyDeleteI am Assuming that because he is not on in the morning. To me, he is one of the 2 best Radio Disc Jockeys, around here. The other was Don Roberts before he retire last year from 103.1. I have listen to Rich since his days at WKAU 1050 AM. And I will continue listening to him when I find out where he went. Thanks

An old WOSH/WYTL radio compadre, Steve Buss, sent me a link to the story on Fox 11 about Rich Allen. I am so sorry. My wife and I both loved Rich and the interplay between the two of you in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad and terrible for all concerned.

I am in a state of disbelief. My hope is that this was a one time really big mistake on Richs' part. I think we all need to remember all that he has given to this community and if found guilty I hope he can find a way to serve his sentence and move on with his life. I will keep Richs' family and the employees at Cumulus in my prayers. Just remember time does heal all wounds.
ReplyDeletestill a faithful listener

Oh my goodness.....I was sooo sad to hear about Rich. Jonathan, I can't even imagine how you feel since it seems you and Rich are very good friends and I love listenting to you both on the radio. I have been listening to Rich ever since I can remember. All of us are human and all of us make mistakes, unfortunately this was a big one. My thoughts and prayers go out to Rich and his family and hope that they find a way to heal and stick with each other.

No Rich Allen and Jonathan Krause? What a very sad day it is. How will my wife and I wake-up and get our day started each morning? We've listened for more years than we can even remember. We wish it were a big mistake, but apparently not. Hopefully, Jonathan can carry on with someone else; in the mean time Rich's family, Jonathan and family and all others who have been hurt will be in our thoughts.
ReplyDeleteJonathan,
ReplyDeleteI am saddened and in shock. I have listened to you guys for years, and you have an unknown friend. If true, it is a sickness and can be treated, and I await when things are well again. You have my prayers, as does Rich.

I was shocked and saddened to read the article about Rich Allen - he was the first DJ I listened to when I moved to WI 7 years ago and I enjoyed the banter between the two of you every morning since then. I feel for you. Erica Dabrowski
